  • Early Years

  • Born on June 9, 1976, in Mumbai (then Bombay), Amisha Patel received her high school education at the Cathedral and John Connon High School in Mumbai and her college degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts. After her college graduation, she began to act in plays and do some modeling work. 


  • Career Slump

  • Patel's monumental success was followed by a string of box-office bombs between 2002 and 2006. Patel did experience a respite, though, with "Humraaz," a movie that was inspired by the 1998 Michael Douglas-starring thriller "A Perfect Murder."
  • Redemption

  • By the end of 2006, Patel had won great critical praise for playing a transgressed wife in "Ankahee." She also got additional boosts with the moderate box office success of the romantic comedy "Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd." and the critical success of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa," both released in 2007.
